  • Help Center & FAQ | Case Ingersoll Tract

HELP CENTER What is the 3100 and 4100 series? The 3100 and 4100 tractors have implements that are all hydraulic driven They are "All Hydraulic" "AH" machines. They have bigger hydraulic pumps and power steering and hydro PTO were standard on them. They have specific model attachments that are made only for "AH" models. And AH tractors should not be used on non AH hydraulic attachments besides log splitter and roto tillers or damage/injury can occur. The 3100 and 4100 series were only manufactured for a couple of years so while they are awesome machines the implements can be hard to come by and costly Another consideration when thinking about owning these tractors is if the motors on the implements fail they are very hard to find a replacement motor and not easily fixed. If Mowing or using a snow blower are the primary use for your machine, you may want to consider a more common front belt PTO machine. If you want to push snow, doze, grade, rototill, split wood mainly then the AH models are fine choices. What is the difference between a 'long frame' and 'short frame' tractor? The 'long frame' tractor means that the frame is 2 inches longer You can feel the extra space between the seat and the tower of the tractor They added the extra 2 inches to the tractor so they were able to fit the 60 inch mowers under the tractors. They started making the tractors 'long frame' in 1980 The short frame 400 series tractors have diamond plate pattern on the operators platform between the frame rails, all the small wheel tractors are short frame. Any 200/3000 model are short frame. Is there a way for the front/mid and rear (3 point hitch) hydraulic lifts to move independently from each other on my tractor? Yes, we have designed a kit that you can install to make this possible. It is called a selector valve. It will allow you to move either your front/mid or rear implement up and down without the opposite implement moving. You may want to do this if you have, for example, a tiller on the rear and a blade on the front or maybe a blade or blower on the front and weight on the back, a blade in front and York rake in the back, 3 point splitter in rear and blade in front, blade in back and blower in front, mower on belly and something on the 3 point ETC. It is a simple install and we find many people are very happy with the ability to spit the movement of their front and rear implement movements. It really makes you machine much more useful and we would not own a 3 point with out it. The kits can be put on any model Case Ingersoll. Why choose Case Ingersoll and are they right for me? YES! lol Please check out our "Why Case Ingersoll" page on this site as well as Our "Original brochure" Page, and our YOU TUBE channel you will finds lots of info on the tractors, how to videos and tractors in action for an idea of what they are as well as their capabilities. There are very few situations where a Case Ingersoll does not fit and or excel. How Can I STOP My Tractor From "Free Wheeling" Down Hill? Prior to the mid 1980s these tractors did not have what is called a holding valve installed out of the factory. The holding valve is what would allow you to go down hill without gaining speed or 'free wheeling. With a holding valve what ever speed you start a descend at you will be at the same speed at the bottom. If you tractor does not have one they can be added. After the mid '80s these tractors came out of the factory with a holding valve built into the travel control valve. The add on holding valve is a square block that is attached into the hydraulic system right in front of the rear drive motor - they are a simple install if you do find a machine that does not have the holding valve and you want to add one. Many times we have them in stock used. We do highly recommend them to be added to your machine, especially if you have any hills. Case Ingersolls have good brakes that will stop the machine and lock up the rear. BUT THEY HAVE TO BE IN GOOD SHAPE AND ADJUSTED CORRECTLY. It is a false myth that do not stop well. This is only the case if your machines brake system is in poor condition or out of adjustment or user does not know or understand how to make them work correctly. What oil does the "hydraulic" system in my Case Ingersoll use? The Case Ingersoll hydraulic system is NOT designed for regular hydraulic oil or hydro/trans oil, but rather for motor oil 15-40; 20-50; or synthetic 5-40; synthetic 15-40 or synthetic 15-50 diesel oils and racing engine oils in these weights are good choices. If you are looking for how to change the hydraulic oil check out our YouTube Video here: Changing The Hydraulic Oil On Case Ingersoll Garden Tractors Hydrive System How do you know you need to replace your motor mounts on your Kohler powered tractor? The need to replace motor mounts tends to be fairly common as these tractors age but not to worry, it can be an easy process to do yourself. If you tractor has a lot of shake and vibration and you feel like the motor mounts are looking a bit tired you can check them you self to verify that they need to be replaced. If the bolts are not centered or close to it in the rubber mounts then they are worn. Check out our YouTube video that will give you all the pointers on not only how to tell if you do need to replace your mounts and how to do the repair yourself. We stock complete motor mount kits to do the job. Why is my tractor 'jumpy' when moving the travel control forward or backwards? As the tractor components wear it only takes a small amount of play for the tractor to feel like it jumps as you push the travel initially into forward or reverse You can fix this by replacing the components with OEM factory parts that will make it better for a SHORT time or you can upgrade to our custom very heavy duty travel control linkage full kit we designed. Far superior to OEM or other incomplete inferior linkages out there. Watch this YouTube video for better explanation of what happens when the components wear out, why it gets jumpy and our solution to fix it so you wont have to worry about it for a very long time. This is also a install video as well. Can I adjust the FRONT BELT PTO on my tractor? Yes, you can 'field adjust' your PTO to make it properly engage again in a jam, you can also remove the front cooler etc and get at it from the front and do the job as per the manual. Also many times PTO at this point in there lives are do for a rebuild or refresh. For tips and 'How To" - watch the below video. We will explain what tools you need and how you can adjust the PTO while its on your tractor without disassembling to do so. Also watch our video on how to do a full rebuild of your PTO. What Do I need to add a Heavy Duty Hydraulic Roto Tiller To A Case Ingersoll Tractor Or Loader Case Ingersoll tillers are hydraulic drive that can rotate in both directions, and they work fantastic. Check out our gardening videos. You will need a few things on any Case Ingersoll to be able to use a tiller. First you need a hydraulic "PTO" valve to power the tiller, they can be added to any Case Ingersoll Hydro tractor or loader and are a pretty easy install, You will need a hitch to mount the tiller, the cheapest is a sleeve hitch, the most versatile is a independent 3 point hitch with a sleeve hitch adapter and of course the tiller. We often get asked how much it costs to set up a tractor for tilling. It varys . But figure $250 to $450 for PTO, Sleeve hitch $200 to $400 OR you can opt for a 3 Point Hitch and sleeve Hitch adapter $600 to $1200 and the tiller $400 to $1000. These are "used" prices and averages. What About A Power Angle Dozer/Plow Blade? Yes you can add hydraulic powered angle to your plow. It is not a very hard upgrade to do, especially if you have some basic fabrication skills. You need a small hydraulic cylinder and one of our costume "selector valve" kits. So you can operate the angle cylinder separately. These kits are available in our store under "hydraulic" or "custom kits." Have questions about our services? • Projects | Case Ingersoll Tractors

Current & Past Projects We have been lucky enough to work on these awesome tractors. We wanted to share with you some of the projects that have come through our shop and some of our own tractors that we plan to keep as part of our fleet for years to come. YOU CAN CLICK ON "SOME" IMAGES FOR MORE PHOTOS OUR PERSONAL CUSTOM CASE 448 HOOD SCOOP This hood scoop is a 1980 CASE 448 that we took down to the frame, sandblasted, epoxy primed and urethane primed, and painted with OEM acrylic enamel Case Power Red and automotive Jet Black Urethane and clear coat it to bring it back to life. This is a working tractor restore and we added our own touches and was not done as a show tractor, but we definitely feel it could hold its own in a show. We added black axles, foot rests, hood scoop, bumper, dash tower, 3 point, pto some custome decals and other accents to make it our "own" as we do with many we paint. We enjoy giving these tractors our own 'flare' while bringing them back to their original look and color at the same time. This 18hp Onan will be a workhorse for us. It is equipped with 3 point hitch, fender mount PTO, loaded ag tires, a holding valve, a selector valve, multiple sets D10 wheel weights in the rear, and a front bumper. OUR CUSTOM 1987 ANNIVERSARY 648 Loader FORK MACHINE This 648 was stripped down to a bare frame, everything removed, sandblasted, epoxy primed, urethane primer OEM Acrylic enamel Case Power Yellow, Automotive Urethane Jet Black, and clear coat. Though these machines were solid yellow or tan, we added all the black to it and feel it makes for a heck of a good-looking machine. It has new hoses, hardware, bushing, joints, wiring, springs, linkages, tires, and much more. This was done as a working machine restore and we added lots of black, additional options and upgrades to this including a late model webbed lower geared rear, and wide flotation kit with wider axles, rims, and tires. We also upgraded to a bigger hydraulic pump, custom LED flush mount lights sitting behind original glass headlight lenses, like new heavy-duty HH34 3-point hitch, holding valve, added our custom spin on hydraulic filter kit, PTO valve, custom black 3-point hitch weight box and stay tuned for more additions and upgrades. This will be our dedicated Fork machine. OUR 1987' CUSTOM 648 Bucket Loader Restore This 648 also a 1987 was also stripped down to a bare frame, everything removed, sandblasted, epoxy primed, urethane primer OEM Acrylic enamel Case Power Tan, Automotive Urethane Jet Black, and clear coat. In the Hood, Fenders and Vertical Loader Braces On Frame Have Gold Metallic flake in the clear coat. Though these machines were solid yellow or tan, we added all the black to it and feel it makes for a heck of a good-looking machine. We also made the rims silver and think they look good. It has all new hoses, hardware, bushing, joints, wiring, springs, linkages, tires, rebuilt cylinders and valves, new OEM hydraulic pump, previously rebuilt Onan 18 HP "B" Engine with "Brand New OEM DD Carb and new OEM intake and much more. This was done as a working machine restore and we added lots of black, additional options and upgrades to this including a late model webbed lower geared rear, 16 inch rims, and tires. We also upgraded custom LED flush mount lights sitting behind original glass headlight lenses, like new heavy-duty HH34 3-point hitch, holding valve, added our custom spin on hydraulic filter kit, PTO valve, custom black 3-point hitch weight box our custom heavy duty front axle pin, late model vented luver cash tower cover and stay tuned for more additions and upgrades. This will be our dedicated bucket machine as we have a toothed bucket and a smooth edge bucket. OUR PERSONAL CUSTOM INGERSOLL 4120 This 4120 all-hydraulic model has been in our fleet for a while and has been our 'go-to' machine for any harder work we need to do. We have some videos of this machine before it was redone on YouTube snow-blowing. We may be biased but we like how it came out. The 4120 has all the add-ons. It has a front bracket with Case suite case weights and rear D10 weights along with a larger set of combine weights outside of them for extra weight with loaded tires. We added both a selector valve and a flow control valve as well. It has the heavy-duty HH34 3point hitch, under seat PTO, power steering and oversized front and rear tires too. Like many other we do this one has added black paint to the dash tower, foot rests, axles, 3 point, weights and more. This was a unplanned work restore, but we had to do some repairs and motor had to come out to do them so we decided it was time to take it down to bare frame and redo it with many, many new parts, new hardware, hoses, linkages and much more. OUR PERSONAL CUSTOM CASE 448 BLACK FRAME 84' This black frame CASE/Ingersoll 448 from 1984 has been sitting here at the shop waiting for us to get a chance to redo it and we are so glad we got to in the summer of 2022. With this BF 448 we also took it down to the frame, sandblasted, epoxy primed and urethane primed and painted with OEM acrylic enamel Case Power Red and automotive Jet Black Urethane and clear coat. OEM Power White Rims and few custom decals and finishing trim touches. The black frame models just have a sharp look to them and the fresh paint really brings it back to life. We plan to keep this 18-horsepower Onan powered jem for some occasional mowing and snow work so we can appreciate this clean look for a long time! Check out our videos on YouTube cleaning up leaves to see it work beautifully with a freshly painted white deck too! Case 644 Loader Basic Repaint & Service This 644 we did what we call a "Basic" Repaint and full service and go through before selling it. We sanded, scuff, prepped, primed and painted it, new decals. Not a restore but far more than most do before offering a machine up for sale. We replaced the hydraulic pump, new front tires, complete new exhaust system, many other new parts including full tune up, service and adjustments. Left running great and very presentable and went to a new home that loves it! Hood Scoop 448 This is a tractor we cleaned up and repainted, fully serviced to bring new life to it. We added some aggressive tires to it and it made for one happy new tractor owner. We really enjoyed this project and the end results. Hood Scoop 448 This is another shot of the 448 that we re-did with a mower deck on ready to get to work. 4120 Ingersoll This is our work horse, it has never told us "NO" to a task yet. It works hard and earns its keep, this is the same tractor pictured above that we were able to redo this past summer. It was always a beast but now its a beauty too!! Customer Tractor - Repaint and Repair 444 This tractor was fun to have at the shop. We did a lot of mechanical work and also had the opportunity to repaint it. It was not a true 'restore' but we were able to bring it back to its glory, sharp looking tractor. This was a fun project for us for a good customer of ours! 4020 Ingersoll The 4020 Ingersoll is such a nice tractor, this one was super clean and the 20 horsepower Onan, you cannot go wrong! Case 446 Cleaned up classic 446 Case 446 This tractor came to us repainted, sharp looking tractor and with a few mechanical repairs it went quickly to a new home. It was one we sold a few years back a couple owners ago and it needed a good bit of work done and the last owner did a nice job on the restoration, Case 444 New paint for this ole 444 Case 444 Older Case 444 that got cleaned up with some of our own touches to the pain scheme Case 446 Repainted with our own touches to bring this 446 back around to its glory Ingersoll 446 Ingersoll 446 with some fresh paint Ingersoll 4020 Clean Ingersoll 4020 that we cleaned up the pait on Case 444 This 444 is one that we painted and did a full tune up on Case 446 Another one of our projects, repainted and tuned up ready to go Hood Scoop 448 When we get a chance to paint a tractor that is not a customers we like to add our own 'touch' to it. This hood scoop we did the actual scoop black, personally we think it makes for a sharp look! Ingersoll 4120 All Hydraulic package that went to a great new home, nice clean machine Case/INGERSOLL 446 Black Frame 1984 This machine was rough when we saved it, it came from a scrap yard! We knew it would be a 446 worth saving that that we did a refresh on with some paint and as always a full tune up and service besides many repairs. Case 446 Some new decals on this 446 with a blower ready to move some sonw CASE 448 This is a late model INGERSOLL 446 we re painted and sold. We added some charcoal metallic paint with orange highlights on the rims to mix things up. It has a cool and unique look. Case INGERSOLL Black Frame 1984 446 Another 446, this one was a black frame that we got to clean up and bring back some original look glory to it.

  • Changes through the years | Case Ingersoll Tract

Changes Through The Years Addition of Built in Holding Valves In order to keep the tractor from freewheeling downhill at any speed there was a separate add-on holding valve that could be added but starting in the late 70s it became an option from the dealer. In the mid 80's they began using a travel control valve that had the holding valve built into the travel control valve. Change to Larger Fenders The original tractors had the 'elephant ear' fenders. As time went on they became more full, and eventually complete fenders over a few different style changes. The newest models have full fenders that will meet the floorboard of the tractor making a full operator's platform. Engine Placement Rotated 180 Degrees With the 3000/4000/6000 series, the engine flywheel was spun 180 degrees. Before engine air was blown on the owner, many did not mind it in the winter as it kept the operator warm especially if a cab was installed. But In the summer it could get hot Changed from Short Frame to Long Frame In 1980 with the addition of the 448 they added 2 inches to the frame of the big wheel series making it a 'long' frame. It was done so that the 60-inch deck could be mounted under the tractor - it also does make it a bit nicer to get on and off too! Webbed Rear End The Latest models will have the "webbed and gusseted" rear end that was previously only used on the Backhoe Loaders because of its added strength and weight. In the early 2000's it was also used on all 3000/4000/6000/7000 series models. It was stronger but more likely much easier and overall cheaper to warehouse a single-style rear for production and cost advantages. Other 3000/4000/6000 Changes With the 3000/4000/6000 series, an electric PTO for belt drive was used instead of the previously used manual engaged style. Because of engine position being spun now changing belt direction rotation, the mower deck discharge was now on the right side. Now the Hydraulic PTO valve option was located under the seat instead of on the fender. Power Steering was also now an option!

  • 7000 4x4 Loader/backhoe Models | Case Ingersoll Tractors Northeast | Connecticut

INGERSOLL 7020 4X4 LOADER-BACKHOE MODELS The 7020 is the only four-wheel drive model Case Ingersoll built. With the heavyweight and especially big tire model tractors, traction was not an issue. AND 4x4 on small class machines is really not necessary nor a significant advantage on smaller machines. However, it does help some, and when in deep job site mud or slick extreme hills the 4x4 helps on the loaders. But at the time the competition was offering 4x4 models and to stay competitive Ingersoll offered a 4x4 model. Both the 7020 and 7020 backhoes were 20 horsepower and most had Kohler Command twin-cylinder engines. For a time, 20 horsepower Honda engine was offered as an option. Loved by its owners the 7020 is one heck of a workhorse, both loaders, and backhoes. Most owners use it in 2-wheel drive 85 percent of the time but are happy when they need 4x4 and it's there. The 7000 series can lift huge amounts of weight and get work done fast. A quick attach option was available for the front as well as 3 point hitch, and hydraulic rear PTO. They filled a particular market where a real work machine was needed but in a small package. The compact tractors of the competition were just lightweight garden tractors with light loaders added to them. Unlike the Ingersoll's that were true mini construction machines.

  • Case Ingersoll 648 Restore Fork Loader | Case Ingersoll Tractor

Case 644 Loader Basic Repaint & Service This was a machine we sanded, scuffed, prepped, primed and did what we call a "Basic" Paint Job on to clean it up to sell. Far from a restore, but far more than what most do to throw paint on something to sell. We also fixed whatever needed fixing, replaced many parts including a new hydraulic pump, front tires, complete exhaust system and much more. It was fully serviced and tuned and it went off to a great new home running like a top and very presentable!

  • GT SERIES 4021/23-4221/23 | Case Ingersoll Tract

The Last Generation Big Wheel 4000/4200 GT Models INGERSOLL 4021-GT The 4021-GT was powered by the "Big Block" 21 horsepower Vanguard engine. The Big Blocks have noticeably more power than the Smaller 14/16/18 Vanguard engines but still did not make the torque that the 18/20 horsepower Onans that they replaced. The 4021 GT replaced the 4020. The 4021 was also available with the power steering option as well. These Machines were made In Portland Maine by the company Eastman which bought Ingersoll and moved the company from it long home in Winneconne Wisconsin. INGERSOLL 4023-GT The 4023-GT was the 23-horsepower version of the 4021 GT. It was also powered by The Big Block Version of the Briggs & Stratton Vanguard Engine. INGERSOLL 4221 GT HAVE A PHOTO WE CAN USE? The 4221-GT is a foot-controlled version of the 4021 GT. The foot pedal allowed the operator to control the travel speed with their foot. It was also available as a power steering model. INGERSOLL 4223 GT The 4223-GT is a foot-controlled version of the 4023 GT. Available with power steering as well. DO YOU HAVE A PHOTO OF A 4223 GT? If you do, please share it with us - we would love to see it! caseingersoll@gmail.com

  • 600 Series Loaders/backhoes | Case Ingersoll Tractors Northeast | Connecticut

CASE INGERSOLL MINI REAL CONSTRUCTION LOADERS AND BACKHOES Handy little loader 644 LOADER The 644 was the smallest mini-construction loader offered by Case. It was powered by the Kohler "K" 14 horsepower single engine. It is a great machine for the homeowner, and homestead situation. Being a heavier loader the 644 can get the job done, just a bit slower and not those extreme jobs, as the 14-horse engine can be pushed to its limits in this machine. Now that said it is still far more capable than many of the competitor machines with loaders added to them. Besides being lower horsepower its biggest downfall along with the 646 is not having powering steering. Though many owners do not find it a big deal as they do turn well especially when moving, once one uses a power steering model no one ever wants to go back. There seem to be a few backhoes 644 made but they are very rare and were not made for long or many of them. DO NOT LET THE SIZE FOOL YOU! 646 LOADER The 646 shocked many with its incredible capabilities it truly was a mini commercial loader. With its big heavy cast iron Onan CCK 16.5 horsepower engine that made lots of torque. Some 646 are seen with Onan "B" Series engines, 16 horsepower. These machines offered impressive digging and lifting capabilities. The capabilities were similar if not better than some of the skid steers and small tractors of the same era. Because of this, they were very popular with municipalities, institutions, campuses, landscapers, farmers, cemeteries, warehouses, septic companies, etc. Then and now the 646 is a popular machine and many hang on to them and when they come up for sale they sell very, very fast! If you want one and see one, grab it! Or you will lose it! Cadillac Jack 648 LOADER Ah the 648, the 648 was everything the 646 was and MORE. The 648 was powered by a "B" Series Onan 18 horsepower 2-cylinder engine. It came standard with power steering and a big hydraulic pump. Also standard was a holding valve and rear PTO valve. Another improvement was the wider front tires and stance as well as a lower high-range gear. These were some of the changes the 648 had over previous models. It could be equipped with 3 point hitch like the other loaders as well. The 648 replaced both the 644 and 646 as the Loader offered by Case Ingersoll and was released in 1980. This small footprint machine weighed around 1,300 lbs to around 2,000 lbs with added weight! Endless possibilites and profit 646 BACKHOE The 646 BH was the same machine as the 646 loaders but with the backhoe option, not just any backhoe, but a true commercial heavy-duty backhoe. The D100 made by Davis, this backhoe was used on lots of equipment and was the same backhoe offered on skid steers, adapted to 3 points for big farm tractors, and also the same used on the smaller models of the full-size Case construction backhoes and small crawlers. The backhoe package was not just the hoe but a full undercarriage sub-frame under the whole 646 as well as mid and front counterweights and its own dedicated hydraulic circuit to make it a true backhoe machine, unlike others that just bolted to the rear or 3-point. "Honey we shrunk the famed Case 580" 648 BACKHOE Well-designed and built by those who make the famed Case 580 full-size backhoe, the 648 really does follow in the same footsteps and reputation. It is the same platform as the 648 loaders but with the added D100 backhoe package as described under the 646. The backhoe package also included wider rear axles, bigger axles, a webbed gusseted rear end, wider rims, and 12-inch wide tires! This helped make the machine more stable but also added weight distribution and better flotation for a machine that weighed 2,750 to roughly 3,500 lbs! Depending on added ballast. This machine was loved by all that used them and in countless industries, as they were smaller than almost any commercial machine out there but could do the same work as some of bigger size. They could get into more locations and tighter places, do less damage and be hauled to more places where bigger trucks or trailers could not go. They hold their value very well and when come up for sale go VERY fast!

  • 400 series | Case Ingersoll Tract

Case Ingersoll 400 Series Big Wheel The Big Guns THE BIG DOG OF THE 3 DIGIT SERIES CASE INGERSOLL 448 The 448 was launched in 1980 with a 2-inch longer frame from previous years' 400 series and all Big Wheel models from here out would be "Long Frame". The longer frame was to accommodate the very heavy-duty huge 60-inch commercial deck. Also for the model year 1980, they had hood scoops for the 448 only. The 448 was powered by a very strong 18-horsepower twin-cylinder Onan engine. The 18 horsepower was nearly a 50 cubic inch engine. The 448 is a great model and one many want to own. There is very little the 448 can not get done and will do more than most competitor tractors its size or bigger! It was produced roughly 10 years until the 4000 series came out and the 4018 was its successor as the new Big Wheel 18 horsepower model, but the New Big Dog would be the 4020. The 448 could be equipped with a 44, 48, or 60-inch mower deck. 44 or 54-inch plow/dozer blade, 38 or 48 snow castor, or any of the other Case Ingersoll attachments available or any of the CAT 0 three-point hitch attachments. THE TIME TESTED WORKHORSE CASE INGERSOLL 446 The 446 is powered by the massive big torque 2-cylinder industrial Onan engine that is 16 horsepower. It is the same engine as the 226. The 16-horse has significantly more power than the smaller 200 series and 444 engines. With the 2-cylinder engine, it is no surprise. With the 16 horsepower, it enables the 446 to take on all attachments available Capable of running a 38 or 48-inch snow blower; 44, 48 or 60-inch (long frames only) mower, and the big 44 and 54-inch plow/dozer blade. This is the most common Big Wheel model, as it was produced from the early 1970s to the late 1980s and was a favorite of Case Ingersoll owners and followers. The one cylinder wonder CASE INGERSOLL 444 The 444 is powered by a single-cylinder Kohler "K" series 14 horsepower engine. With the 14 horsepower and the big wheels, it is ready to take on big jobs as well as the bigger attachments available. Capable of running 38 or 48-inch snow blower, 44, and 48-inch mowers are recommended though many long-frame 444 have been known to mow grass with 60-inch decks. They will push the 44" and big 54-inch plow/dozer blade just fine as well. Though less torque and power overall than its big brothers with Onan 2 cylinders, do not be fooled this 1-cylinder worker bee will do just about anything you can put in front of it, just maybe a little slower than the 446, or 448 that's all. It will also use less fuel than the big boys and maintenance costs are less as well. The 444 was built from the early '70s to late '80s, and the 442 and 444PK from the late '60s and very early '70s were very similar tractors but also had some differences as well. The "Performance King" 444 CASE 444PK The 444 was powered by the BIG (at the time) Kohler "K" Series 14 horsepower single-cylinder engine that was used for many decades. Looking back the PK models 220/222/442/444 were more like hybrids during the cross over years from 155/195 to the 200/400 series. they had a lot in common with both series. But the stuff they had in common with the older series was quickly phased out as better and newer designs came to be like the famed and fast snap fast attachment system that came to be in 71/72 and was used for 40 years! The hydraulics setup and the system were upgraded significantly after the PK models as well as the attachments themselves. Styling continued to change in the next generation as well from seats to fenders as the "Elephant ear fenders were dropped on the big wheel series. Rubber-isolated motor mounts were used now after the PK tractors, the PTO engagement system too was changed after the PK tractors. Some of the early next-gen 200 and 400 series in 70/71/72 seemed to have some of these changes and some not as they must have been using up inventory and tooling. It seems everything was pretty well changed over in 1973. 442 PK GAME CHANGERS CASE 442 The Performance Kings "PK" were the beginning of history being made. They were styled like the new 70 series AG farm tractors as the previous models 155/195 etc were styled after the 30 series AG farm tractors. The PK and the new 200 and 400 series were game changers with styling, construction, design, and engineering. They were the foundation for the later 200, 400, 3000, and 4000 series. They came out in 1969. This was basically an all Case design/upgrade from the Colt tractors they bought out. The 442 was powered by the classic 12-horsepower Kohler "K" When released. These intimidating-looking hard-working beasts from Wisconsin USA were a popular hit with homeowners, farmers, and commercial, and municipal operations alike. All wanted them as they matched the fleet of the bigger full-size Case equipment. caseingersollne@gmail.com

We are always adding parts all the time to the site. We do not stock a "full" catalog of Case Ingersoll parts as we do not currently have the facilities to warehouse every Case Ingersoll part in our physical inventory. Though we have a lot of parts in stock and ship 6 days a week to US and Canada. BUT we can have many, many current and older stock parts available in 2 or 3 days most times. So be sure to ask us for what parts you need that are not listed on our site **PLEASE NOTE WHEN SUPPLY CHAIN ISSUES ARE PRESENT WE MAY SUBSTITUTE PARTS OF THE BEST POSSIBLE QUALITY WE CAN (SOMETIMES BETTER THEN OEM) WE ONLY DO THIS WHEN WE HAVE TO, AND RESERVE THE RIGHT TO DO SO. EITHER WE DO THIS OR THE OTHER OPTION IS TO NOT OFFER THE PARTS FOR SALE. SO WE DO THE BEST WE CAN TO KEEP YOU UP AND RUNNING AND TRY TO KEEP THE PRICE FAIR AS WELL. THANKS FOR YOUR UNDERSTANDING.** Parts are only a piece of our business along with service and sales of equipment. Our pricing policy is simple some times we may not be the lowest-priced option for a few reasons. BUT..... ONE The garden tractor and more specifically the Case Ingersoll community is small. We do not see anyone as or want to be in "competition" with anyone. To the point, we are friends with many of the other dealers and distributors. We choose to get our parts from multiple other Case Ingersoll dealers and distributors intentionally to help support them and keep our community strong and keep them going too . As we move a very large volume of parts, we sometimes also buy directly from the source and or manufactures. So when you buy from us you are also buying and helping support the other multiple other dealers/distributors out there! We are not out here to take business away but the opposite as our hope is this website will bring in new customers for both us and those we buy parts from and expose many more to the Case Ingersoll brand! TWO You will also notice that we do offer some single small parts, but we put together many full and complete kits to make it simple for the customer to do a job completely without having to worry about "if they found and ordered ALL the correct parts they need." We did the hard work of looking up all the part numbers, installing them to make sure they are complete and work first, then offer them in a kit that is basically click, pay and get a box of everything you should need for a job. These kits we put together and offer are the same ones we use in our shop and now offer these kits to you. Most are not available as kits anywhere else. THREE We have figured that we spend on average 10 to 15 hours a week or more helping people with issues with their tractors. Either on FaceBook groups/posts/private messages, Forums, Emails, and many phone calls. Every minute we are doing this it is taking time away from us making money working on customers' machines or getting orders out as well as many after work hours communications taking away family time. This IS A LOT of time that we are not getting paid for. We know that many people would not work 1 hour a week let alone 15 or more and not get paid for it. So, we would hope that those we help doing this, would support us and they appreciate the help, advice, and money we save them by trouble shooting and giving advice. And that they would buy the parts and supplies from us and that the little higher cost for some parts far offsets the help we provide and money we save them. And the value people get from our You Tube how to, trouble shooting, install and all other videos we produce is considered when choosing who you do business with. As well as with our suburb reputation for not only our before, but our after "the sale" customer service. When advice, install questions or any issues arise we are here for "our customers" many times, even after hours we try to respond to those in need as often as we can and hope all see the great value in this! FOUR Parts are only a part of our business model and you will notice we do not list many smaller parts, one reason for this is we are a small business with only 1 to 2 people here so for us to carry the overhead, pull and ship small orders it is not practical or cost-effective for us to do so at this time. Payment Methods Parts Policy And Our Pricing Strategy We offer many new custom kits & parts for sale along with many NEW & USED common parts and ones that we stock and use frequently here in our shop. We choose to get our parts from multiple other Case Ingersoll dealers and distributors intentionally to help support them and keep our community strong and keep them going too. So this is why we do not offer a full catalog of parts on the website and offer what we do on the site. But if you have multiple parts not on our site or more expensive parts you need not on site we are happy to get them for you as we have access to all available new Case Ingersoll parts as well as many used & some no longer available parts. PRICE SHOPPING With all the above mentioned realize if you are trying to find the very lowest price all the time we might not be it, realize it takes us time to look up parts prices and availability as most times we have to make calls as in today's world prices can literally change weekly so please consider this and our pricing policies when asking for parts prices and availability of those not listed on our sites we kindly ask you to be serous in following through with your purchase from us please. Thank You we appreciate any and all business and support ! WE ARE STRONG SUPPORTERS OF USA-MADE, SMALL BUSINESSES AND OUR MILITARY AND VETERANS. We are proud and honored to support those that have or are serving in the military of the USA! We thank each of you and your families for your service! Be sure to mention to us when in person that you are military. We try and support small businesses and veteran-owned businesses any time we can and when possible and makes sense we try to use and buy USA products whenever we are able! SHIPPING POLICY We will ship to Canada, BUT you must contact us ahead of placing your order for shipping rates and info. We try to get all orders out ASAP. • What To Look For When First Buying | Case Ingersoll Tractors Northeast | Andover

What To Look For When Buying A Case Ingersoll Tractor Here are just a few things that you should look at on Case Ingersoll machines. The common things you should look at on any machine should be looked at as well but we will not go into those too deeply as there is info out there for those. Basic Common Things To Look At On Any Machine. Some basic things you should check on any machine. FIRST ALWAYS check if it has the correct amount of oil before starting! If the oil is low be cautious, if there is no oil on the stick, then expect the engine has been damaged and should be valued as so. Fill the oil to "full" before starting any engine. Is the oil clean? If oil is blackish, is it normal consistency? If so more than likely needs to be just changed. If it's thicker and sludgy then it probably has not had great maintenance. If it is milky looking it could have water entering into it at some time and could be a concern. It also could be that it sat for a while or has been started but not run long enough to burn off condensation. If it appears a good amount of water is in the oil CHANGE before starting. Does it run and if not do you have proof why not. Does it have compression on all cylinders? If you have a compression gauge, by all means, use this cheap and simple device, if not pull the spark plug for each cylinder, crank over with the starter, and see if you can feel pressure coming out of the spark plug holes? If running, are both engine cylinders actually working if a 2-cylinder machine? You can check with an infrared heat temp gun, they are cheap and easy to use. Both cylinders should be running at the same temp within reason. Check the temperature on both cylinders on the same spot like heads (not heat shield), exhaust pipe is another good place where it comes out of the head. If you do not have a gun you can drip a little water on it and see if it seems to sizzle the same on each side. Be careful as you are dealing with hot areas! If you do not have water you can carefully hold your hand ABOVE not on the exhaust pipe or head for each side. It's hot use your head. Hydraulic Leaks Ok, so it is common that these machines being 15 to 50 years old will have leaks when looking at them. 90 percent of the time this is not a big deal. Most times it is simple o-rings or hoses that need tightening or replacing. But check the hydrulic cooler/radiator for leaks in the metal itself, check the tank, check the pump case itself, etc. These can be a little bigger repairs to keep in mind when pricing. If it's just lines and hoses leaking they are easy to get a hold of, replace, and not overly costly and not a reason to run from a machine but keep it in mind when negotiating a price on the machine. Do You Have Hills? Do you plan on operating your tractor on big hills? If so does the machine you are looking at have a "Holding Valve"? The early Case Ingersoll's "can" freewheel downhill if not operated correctly and can be scary. A holding valve can be added to any Case Ingersoll and it allows the machine to go up or downhill at the speed you started the hill at and not gain or lose speed. A holding valve was built into the Case Ingersoll travel valves and was standard on all machines around the mid-1980s and was an option prior. The valves are available and are straightforward to install. Check Hydraulic Tank & Oil On Case Ingersoll machines, they have a hydraulic tank that holds the oil for the transmission system as well as the lift and attachment power systems. The oil on most models should be 2 to 4 inches from the TOP of the tank neck. Also, the oil should be 15-40, 20-50 or similar ENGINE OIL NOT hydrulic fluid is to be used on the machines. The oil should be very, very clean NO water, Milk, Sludge, Particles, etc. If it is not Motor oil it could have caused some issues or could not. Not being motor oil is not a turn-and-run situation but if there are hydrulic issues it might be the cause. But again, depending on the situation sometimes changing to the correct oil can simply fix some issues. You won't know until you do this so keep this in mind when figuring a price. Also, check the condition of the tank itself for cracks and leaks. Tanks are available and not hard to change and not extremely costly. Check The Hydraulic Functions For those who are new to Case Ingersoll, this all may be unfamiliar to them and intimidating. But it is pretty simple and straightforward. Take it for a ride does it go forward and reverse, does it drive at a pretty consistent rate? Does it go uphill with no issues when the rear end is in low range? If it engages in forward and reverses a bit jumpy that is normally not a big deal but a common small issue. Most times it is just new users to the machines not used to the instant power and operating the machine. The other common reason is worn travel linkage is likely the issue which is a fairly easy and inexpensive fix. It should not be a reason to be alarmed. The tractor should not lurch, buck, etc when in motion. If there is an attachment available to load or work the machine try it out. Raise and lower the hydraulics preferably with an attachment mounted. When you move the attachment does it lift and lower smoothly with no struggle to lift, hold, and lower? Is it fairly constant and fairly fast at lifting? If not, many times, provided the issue is just with the lifting, it may be that just the cylinder could use a simple and inexpensive reseal. If the drive and lift are acting up it could be a bigger issue like a pump issue or could also just need the fluid changed and the CORRECT oil used. Steering Components With the age of many of these machines, the steering can be worn. The good news is all the parts are available and the better news is we sell heavy-duty upgrade complete kits. The common issue is worn axle pins that allow movement in the front axle. The axle should have no forward or back movement when turning the steering wheel or pushing on the tire/axle. BUT, almost all machines do have this play in them from being used, and it is not a deal breaker at all. Also, the rod end on the drag link and tie rods can have play in them. Again, easy replacement and we have upgraded parts for these too. The other part of the system is the steering gears themselves, often they can slip or bind. Many times this is from someone monkeying with them not knowing what they were doing. Lots of time it can be corrected by the parts being installed correctly. Other times the steering gears, mounts, shafts, etc can be worn, also if teeth are missing on the gears then replacement is needed. This repair can take some time and parts can add up a little. But again very doable and not deal breakers but should be considered in the value of the machine. Final Over All Assessment These machines are great and no matter the condition you should not run from them. That said the price has to reflect its condition, and its condition has to reflect your skill set to repair and/or budget to get it repaired. Price ranges on machines GREATLY vary depending mostly on LOCATION over its condition. So we can not give you values of machines in certain conditions as the same machine can literally vary in value by thousands depending on location. That said most models are worth a lot in just parts alone. And these are not your common brand garden tractors or box store lawn tractors and bring much more money. Do not let things like hoses, tires, paint, slight smoke at startup, mufflers, slight motor/valve noise, brakes, electrical, etc. make you run away from a purchase, these items SHOULD NOT. Just be mindful of what you are looking at and how that is reflected in the price. If the machine was serviced and tuned up or recent repairs done by a "qualified" person that also has a fair amount of value and some peace of mind. If getting from a dealer then you can more than likely trust that they did what they said. If a private owner told you they had the work done then ask for receipts if they have them. If they did it themselves then take it with a grain of salt and make your best judgment on their honesty and ability. Remember if work was already done on a machine it could be a benefit for you cost-wise as most shops depending on location charge $75 to $150 per hour and a $100 rate is really common. So any amount of work with parts and labor more than likely cost them $500 to $1,000 or more. That may be reflected in the price they are asking and also should be in one way or another considered in what you are wanting to pay. The bottom line is if everyone is honest and upfront and as long as you are happy with the price you pay and the seller is happy with the price then it is a great transaction. You should not worry about what others buy machines for nor should they be worried about what you paid. If you are happy then enjoy your machine!!!

  • All Projects | Case Ingersoll Tract

  • 200 series | Case Ingersoll Tract

Case Ingersoll 200 Series Individual Models Gear driven transmission Case? Case 210 The 210 is the only Case Ingersoll tractor that is not hydraulic powered but has a common transmission like most lawn and garden tractors. It is powered by a single-cylinder Kohler "K" series and has a 10-horsepower engine. 38-inch snow blower and mower are recommended sizes and a 44-inch plow/dozer blade. The little guy that gets it done Case Ingersoll 220 The 220 is powered by a single-cylinder Kohler "K" series 10 horsepower engine. 38-inch snow blower and mower are recommended sizes and a 44-inch plow/dozer blade. They can run a 44-inch deck if the land is flat and the grass is not extremely thick. The little worker Bee Case Ingersoll 222 The 222 is powered by a single-cylinder Kohler "K series 12 horsepower engine. Capable of running 38-inch snow blower, up to 44-inch mower, and 44-inch plow/dozer blade. A fan favorite with the power to make it happen. Case Ingersoll 224 The 224 is powered by a single-cylinder Kohler "K" series 14 horsepower engine. The 14-horse has notably more power than the smaller 200-series engines. With the 14 horsepower, it enables the 224 to take on bigger attachments and jobs. Capable of running a 38 or 48-inch snow blower, up to 48-inch mower, and the big 54-inch plow/dozer blade. The small wheel big dog that does not say no. Case Ingersoll 226 The 226 is powered by the massive big torque 2-cylinder industrial Onan engine that is 16 horsepower. The same engine in the 446. The 16-horse has significantly more power than the smaller 200-series engines. With the 2-cylinder engine, it is no surprise. With the 16 horsepower, it enables the 226 to take on all attachments available and most jobs the 400 series can do. But with the advantage of being in a smaller, lower-sitting package! Capable of running a 38 or 48-inch snow blower, up to 48-inch mower, and the big 54-inch plow/dozer blade.

  • Power Steering Models | Case Ingersoll Tractors Northeast | Connecticut

POWER STEERING MODELS THESE ARE SOME OF THE POPULAR POWER STEERING MODELS Other models not pictured- 3016PS, 4016PS, 3021PS, 4021PS, 4023PS, 4221PS, 4223PS INGERSOLL 3018 POWER STEERING The 3018 Power steering is the same basic machine as the 3018, but with power steering, along with the power steering comes a bigger hydraulic pump as well to feed the power steering system. This was the popular model in the 3000 low-profile series. All power steering models were Onan powered as to handle the bigger pumps used and the load placed on the engine. ( The last generation 4021-23 AND 4221-23 were offered in PS and used Big Block Vanguards 21 & 23 horsepower.) INGERSOLL 4018 POWER STEERING The 4018 power steering was a popular option for those that wanted the big wheel models and power steering but did not want to spend what a 4020 PS cost. Again the same machine as a 4018 but with PS and the bigger hydraulic pump. INGERSOLL 4020 PS The Ingersoll 4020 PS was the Flagship model for many years. It was the big dog, we find many were outfitted with the hydraulic PTO option and the 3-point hitch option. Those that bought the 4020 PS wanted all the bells and whistles and the cost seemed not to be a concern for many 4020 PS buyers. Interesting to note all 4020 PS were Onan powered as were all 4020 models. But When the later version generation GT black frame models were released they all had been switched to Vanguards for a while by then, but the Black frame 4020 PS GT was still powered by the Onan P220. The Power red 4020 was very popular and we see many. But the Black frame GT is not very common. We are lucky enough to own a few. The 4020 PS model is our favorite 4000 series model.

Why Choose Case Ingersoll Some Background and More Understanding of the Case Ingersoll Brand and Tractor Model Differences We often talk to many potential tractor owners who do not know much about these commercial garden tractors. We commonly get asked, why Case Ingersoll? What sets them apart from other tractors? We wanted to take a minute to share what is so great about these tractors in particular and what DOES set them apart. Be sure to look for our video "Why Case Ingersoll Garden Tractors" We will link that video here when it comes out. What to look for when first buying - CLICK HERE When you first get your tractor home- CLICK HERE Case Ingersoll Info & Advantages! There are many reasons and advantages Case Ingersoll garden tractors are the best choice for many people as well as businesses and have been for now over 50 years. Even though Ingersoll closed around 2015, the tractors made from the late 60s until closing are still a superior choice for many today. New tractors may no longer be rolling off the line but most parts are still being made and are available new today. Also, there is a large selection of New and Old Stock Inventory from previous and current Case Ingersoll tractors and parts dealers as well as collectors. On top of that, many common-size parts work with these USA-made machines such as common bearing sizes, shafts, hardware, and misc items. Along with the added benefit of many skilled collectors, craftsmen, and companies offering custom, upgraded, and or repopulated parts for these commercial-duty garden tractors. Before Zero Turns and walk-behind mowers were very popular, Case Ingersoll tractors are what would be found not only in many homes but also in small businesses and landscapers. They were the go-to for many municipalities, towns, states, schools, hospitals, churches, hobby farms, and so on. They were built to last with American steel, materials, and handmade skilled and proud labor. They believed so much in their product that they were sold new with a "Life Time" warranty and marketed as the only tractor you will ever need to buy! And unlike most marketing this was true! So true that it ultimately would lead to the downfall of the company over the years. Because, though many repeat buyers purchased the newest model every so many years or upgraded to a bigger Case Ingersoll or added many attachments and options over the years, it was a want, not a need. Most of the competition building tractors with a 3-5 or maybe 10-year workable average lifespan before replacement or major overhaul. The Case Ingersolls were built so well that for most owners they were just getting "broken in" at 5 or 10 years and ready to go another 10 or 20 or more! So, the need for owners to keep replacing them was not there... From an integrity standpoint, the company was admirable in the way they did things and the way it should be done, but from a profit standpoint not so much. This also was the reason these top quality machines were priced very high as you got what you paid for and it would last, they are put together with best quality materials. During the decades these tractors and attachments cost as much as a new smaller car of the time. They were an investment and it shows as in many areas they hold their value far better than any other garden tractor or subcompact out there. So now, some advantages C/I tractors have over the "competition"......... Let's just have Case Ingersoll tell you, have a look below at some of their marketing literature over the decades! Click on some of the pictures below. The following section, below the brochures, highlights some changes in Case Ingersolls over the years.

  • 3000 Series | Case Ingersoll Tract

Meet The Low Profile Small Wheel Team 3000 Series The Baby of the small guys INGERSOLL 3010 The 3010 replaced the 220 and was powered by a 10-horsepower Kohler 1-cylinder engine. Though it was only produced for roughly a year it is thought that they had 10 horsepower engines in inventory to use up. It's said some had the "K" Series and some had the upgraded "Magnum" series engines. We have never had one here in person as they are not a common model. The market Ingersoll was intending to target at this time, there were no buyers wanting 10 horsepower machines. Though back in the day 10 horsepower was standard for working machines. But, in the 90's it was considered low and made for a hard machine to market for the price of these high-quality high-end machines. The 3010 was recommended to be used with a 38-inch mower, 38-inch snow blower, and 44-inch plow blade. GOOD ENTRY MODEL GARDEN TRACTOR INGERSOLL 3012 The 3012 had a lot in common with the 3010, it was powered by the single-cylinder 12 horsepower Kohler "Magnum" early on and was switched to the new Briggs & Stratton "Vanguard" V-Twin cylinder 12.5 horsepower. The 3012 stuck around a few years longer than the 3010 but was cut from the model line for basically the same reasons the 3010 did not sell well in the current market for the times. Though most 3000 series models were basically all the same besides the engine and engine horsepower, it was very clear the market wanted big power machines no matter in lawnmowers, farm tractors, cars, trucks, semis, etc. the "horsepower war of progression" is constantly going on. Don't you know bigger is better! The 3012 was recommended to be used with a 38-inch mower though would run a 44-inch deck. The 38-inch snow blower and 44-inch plow blade were nice fits. THE MIDDLE CHILD INGERSOLL 3014 The 3014 also had a bit in common with the 3010/3012, it was powered by the single-cylinder 14 horsepower Kohler "Magnum" early on and was also switched to the new Briggs & Stratton "Vanguard" V-Twin cylinder 14 horsepower along the way. The 3014 lasted a good bit longer, though longer than the 3010/3012 but was eventually dropped from production as the higher horsepower models were selling faster and it was not making sense to inventory all the different horsepower engines. The 3014 was recommended to be used with 38-inch and 44-inch mower decks. The 38-inch snow blower and 44-inch plow blade were happy combinations. GARDEN TRACTORS START HERE! INGERSOLL 3016 The 3016 was the holdout and eventually became the lowest horsepower garden tractor Ingersoll offered and we feel this was a good move. 16 horsepower is really the lowest a garden tractor should be rated. Many of those still buying the Case Ingersoll machines were using them for much more than just mowing grass. And whether the buyers were gardeners, homeowners, institutions, municipalities, farms, or commercial users, their jobs required the bigger attachments offered to save time and get the job done as efficiency was now the name of the game for profit and bragging rights in the neighborhood or field! The 3016 was originally offered with the updated powerful Onan "Performer" P216 2 cylinder 16 horsepower Industrial engine power plant. This engine produces plenty of power to make stuff happen! Eventually, the US EPA would put an end to a dynasty of the big powerful valve in head opposing cylinder Onan engines. And The 16 horsepower V-Twin Briggs & Stratton Vanguard would be used in place. Though both 16 horsepower the Briggs a great engine in its own right was no Onan and did not make the low-end power the Beefy Onan's did. But the Vanguards used less fuel doing the light-duty tasks. For heavy tasks, it could be said they used more fuel as they worked harder to get the jobs done. The 4016 could be fitted to run 44, 48, and 60-inch mower decks, the 38 or 48 Snow Castors, the heavy-duty 44 or massive 54-inch utility dozer blades, and any other attachments that were available from Case Ingersoll. For very heavy work, the 16-horsepower machines are the minimum one wants in our opinion. BIG DOG OF THE LOW PRO'S... KIND OF INGERSOLL 3018 The 3018 was a great model and very versatile! Like the others early on it was powered by the Big 48 cubic inch Onan's and later the 34 cubic inch Vanguards were used both being 18 horsepower. But as the saying goes for pure power there is no replacement for displacement. That said though the Onan's took more fuel to feed those bigger combustion chambers. The 3018 could take any of the attachments available and handle them, all very well and even being a low-profile small tire machine they could work side by side with the Big Wheel models 90 percent of the time. For many, this was the best of both worlds you have the big power like many of the Big Wheel models but have it in a more compact package that sat lower to the ground if that was what you were looking for. WERE THEY ACTUALLY PRODUCED?? INGERSOLL 3020 Well, I guess technically the 3020 was the true "Big Dog of the small wheel low pros. With its big powerful 2 cylinders 20 horsepower Onan, the same engine as the 18 horsepower Performer Onan with just a different cam and bigger specked carb. BUT, there are so few of these out there that many have never even seen them! They only came with Onan's and were the same tractor always as the 3018 but with a 20-horse engine. We would guess there was 1 of these in at least every 100 of the other models that's how rare they were. And at some point, most of those looking for the real high Horsepower machines were also looking for bigger machines as well for those bigger tasks and would opt for the big wheel series machines.

  • All Tractor Models | Case Ingersoll Tract

Case Ingersoll Tractor Models There are several different series of tractors that Case Ingersoll offered over the years. Below is a quick summary of some of the different ones offered and some details about each series, these were and are some of the most popular series. CLICK ON PHOTOS OF EACH SERIES TO GO TO SPECIFIC MODELS WITHIN THAT SERIES. You will see in small text after clicking photo "Go To Link" at bottom. Or can go to each series page under Tractor Models "menu." 100's Series Older Models These were the first series that Case released after buying Colt. They had many of the same designs and features as the Colts but also had some Case-based designs as well as styling. They were hydraulic drive and the hydraulic lift was an "option", they were powered by single-cylinder Kohler engines. Some of these models were the 130, 155, 180, 190, 195 100's Series Home Owners The later 100 series like the 108, 110,112,114, and 116 were built to compete with the cheaper priced and built competition of Case and Ingersoll. These tractors were more lawn and yard tractors than garden tractors. They were built right and of good quality, as good or better than most in the class of lawnmowers and yard tractors. But they were far smaller and much lighter duty than their big brothers of the Case Ingersoll 200, 3000, 400, and 4000 series true heavy-duty garden tractors. The 100 had no hydraulics, were belt driven, and used consumer-duty engines. Not commercial or industrial engines like their hydraulic Big Brothers. They were also much cheaper price than their big brothers and allowed a different customer base to be able to purchase a quality Case Ingersoll product to do basic lawn mowing and snow removal. Here at Case Ingersoll Tractors Northeast we do very little with this product line and concentrate on the bigger heavy-duty models. 200 Model Series The 200 series are the Low Profile Case Ingersoll models. They have more common-size rear tires, 12-inch wheels, and 23-inch tires 8.50 or 10.50 wide flotation tires on them compared to the Big Wheel 400/4000 series tractors. The 200 series are all very similar to the Big Wheel (BW) series besides model 210, the 210 is gear-driven not hydraulic. The 200 series rear end is basically the same as the 400/400 series but has a slightly different drive motor ratio and a 5-lug hub whereas the BW tractors have a 6-lug hub. The front axles are a little bit smaller than the BW series but they utilize the same front wheels and tires as the BW series. They also share the same frame as the bigger models but, when the BW series frames got stretched 2 inches the small wheel low profile models remained the same length. Though most attachments are interchangeable between series BW and Small Wheel models besides the 60-inch deck, there were some attachments recommended to be better suited for BW VS SW models for optimal performance but it is noted that the higher horsepower small wheel model will perform satisfactorily with the bigger sized attachments. The 200 series were all powered by the ever-popular Kohler "K" Series engine beside the powerful 226 that boasted the high torque industrial 16 horsepower twin cylinder Onan. Simply the last digit in the tractor model represented the last digit in the horsepower for most models so a 222 was 12 horsepower and a 226 was 16 horsepower etc. For more individual model info and specifics scroll down below 400 Model Series The iconic Case-Ingersoll 400 Big Wheel (BW) Series. These may be the most recognized models of any garden tractors by those that know and as well as those not overly familiar with particular garden tractors. With the large 32-inch tall rear tires sitting on standard 16-inch truck/farm implement/tractor 6 lug rims/wheels. The tractor design of the 400 series utilized the same principles and same designs as the bigger Case and many farm tractors, with the much bigger rear tires to help provide exceptional traction and power transfer to the ground. They also have the added benefit of flotation and the ability to go over large obstacles and very rough terrain where many other tractors would have no chance. The large tires also let the BW series have great ground clearance to excel in the garden or woods doing heavy work. The large rear tires also allowed you to add roughly 80 to 100 lbs PER tire of liquid weight into the tire tubes as they hold around 10 gallons each. They offered a smoother ride as well. And being 16-inch rims there are countless tire options from AG tractor tread tires, turf tires, and very common pickup truck tires and tread options. Now the tire size was distinctive and a huge advantage, but there were many other benefits to the 400 series. One very popular option offered now was that of a power-up and power-down heavy-duty 3-point hitch with large lift capabilities. # point hitches can be added to any Case Ingersoll Garden Tractor model and are interchangeable and under an hour to install. After 1980 they all were "long frame" models by adding 2 inches to the frame between the seat and dash tower, they were now able to accept a very large and heavy duty 60 inches 5-foot wide mower deck as an option along with the 44 and 48-inch decks always offered. The 400 series also sported a bigger and heavier-duty front axle with large 1-inch spindles. The front axle was cast steel as was the massive 2-speed all-gear steel rear end. These tractors made very good candidates for adding front loaders for those that do not have the budget for purpose-built loaders like the 600/6000/7000 series loader machines. Though many things are in common with the 200 series, these are a few that set them apart. But many parts and build quality are the same between the 200 and 400 series. The 400 series came out in the late 60s early 70s with the 442 and 444PK models being 12 and 14-horsepower single-cylinder Kohler "K" engines... There were some immediate changes in the first few years with the addition of the 16-horsepower twin-cylinder Onan engine in the model 446. The 442 was dropped and the 444 and 446 were the two BW models until 1980 when the big dog flagship 448 was introduced in the year 1980 with a bigger Onan 18 horsepower. Like the 200 series, the 1976 models were the last Desert Sunset Tan and orange two-colored machines. In 77' they went to the all "orange" models that were painted "Case Power Red." In 1984 for 1 year when Ingersoll bought Case, they released the black frame models that had the Power Red hood and fenders. Then they went back to all Power red paint. The basic design of the BW models 444, 446, and 448 continued with very few major changes during their 20-year model run. The 4000 series replaced the 400 series as the Big Wheel models with some changes but carrying over many of the great things the original big wheel 400 series machines were loved and known for. As with all the Case Ingersoll models they offered a much, much bigger and more capable hydraulic pump than any competitors in the same class as well as multiple classes above them, and most compacts and subcompacts don't even have hydraulic pumps with the size, specs, and capabilities of Case Ingersoll machines. Most Case Ingersoll machines had hydraulic pumps that were 8.5 to nearly 12 GPM gallons per minute and with PSI pressures of 2000 to nearly 3000 pounds per square inch! Ask your new tractor salesman for the specs and you may realize spending that 10,20, or $30,000 dollars may not be the best choice! . 3000 Model Series The 3000 Series replaced the 200 series and the 4000 replaced the 400 series. Many of the changes that were made to the 3000 also happened to the 4000. Wider 10.50-inch rear tires became an option on many 3000 models and seem standard on a few like power steering models and most Onan Powered 3000 models. Also, the Kohler "K" engine was replaced by the Kohler "Magnum" for 10, 12, and 14-horsepower models as they were the lowest horsepower engines now offered in the 3010 (short appearance) 3012 and 3014. The major change made in the new 4-digit machines was the engine placement. Now the engine was spun 180 degrees and the flywheel now faced the back of the tractor where it was facing forward in the 3-digit 200/400 models. The reason this was done was that many customers complained about the hot air from the engine being blown back on the operator, especially in the summer. Though many dealt with this as they enjoyed the warm air in the winter doing snow removal chores. And with cab-equipped tractors, the hot air made the cab very cozy. The spinning of the engine placement also changed the direction that the front PTO belt pulley would spin therefore the mower decks became right-hand discharge were three digits were left discharge. Continue on to the 4000 models to see more changes gained with the four digits models. Power Steering Models The Power steering models shared all the same features as their counterpart 3000 and 4000 series tractors. But they had a strong power steering system, and a larger hydraulic pump, and were all Onan powered until the last 4000 series made with the Big Block 21 and 23 horsepower Briggs and Stratton Vanguard engines. 4000 Model Series Many of the changes mentioned in the 3000 series description were made to the 4000 too. The early 4-digit models sported "Hydrive" on the hood decals. The Hydrive models of the 3000 and 4000 carried a few things over from the 200/400 series. One was the placement and operation of rear-end Hi/Low range selector, early Hydrives did not have the hydraulic filter as well and the rear hydraulic PTO was still a fender-mounted option. They also still had the shorter steering shaft and lower steering wheel placement. These were just a few things carried over from the 3 digits into the new Hydrive models, but all these were eventually changed and updated and the "Hydrive" badge was dropped. The following changes and improvements were for both 3000 and 4000 models. A few years after the release of the 3000/4000 series all the Kohler engines were replaced by the Briggs and Stratton 2-cylinder V-twin Commercial engines. Eventually, the Vanguard would be used in all models that were 12.5 to 18 horsepower and that were NOT Power Steering or ALL HYDRAULIC "AH" models. The power steering and all hydraulic models remained powered by the big torquey Industrial Onan engines to power the larger hydraulic pump used in these models. In the last few years of the 4000 series being produced, the 21 and 23-horsepower models were powered by the bigger Vanguard version. As US emission laws ultimately ended the production of these great powerful Onan valves in head engines. There were some new safety features including seat switches added. The late 3-digit models had plastic dashboards and indicator lights the last couple of years and that carried over to the 3000/4000 models. The front PTO for belts was now electrically engaged over the old manual lever style. Also, the Hydraulic rear PTO for powering leaf vacs/baggers/roto tillers/chippers/brush mowers etc now had the option to be concealed under the seat and came with factory quick connects for the hydraulics. Full fenders and a full operator's foot platform were now the design, as was a removable front grill. The heavier-duty HH34 3-point hitch was added as an option for all 3000,4000, 6000, and 7000 series machines. A spin on the hydraulic filter was added after the first couple of years of the four-digit machines. The rear tail lights came in time as well. Power steering was soon to be an option on many models and this included a bigger hydraulic pump as well. As was an optional lower geared high range rear end that was used standard only on the loader models. These machines were and still are considered some of the most capable best built machines in their class and a class or two bigger! There were only a true handful of competitor models that could come close to the quality and performance of these machines. 3021/4021-4023/4200 GT Models These "GT" series black frame models were the last models produced by Ingersoll and were made in Maine USA. They shared very many things with the 4000/4100 series. But some major differences were foot controls for direction and speed on the 4200 models and bigger Briggs and Stratton Vanguard engines used in 21 and 23-horsepower models. 3100/4100 Model Series All hydraulic models (AH) 3100/4100 series machines were very similar to their counterpart 3000 and 4000 models but with really 1 major difference. They had a very large hydraulic pump. All the attachments were hydro-powered, with no belts. Mower decks, snow blowers, etc were hydro-powered, and the normally hydraulic-powered attachments offered for other models were out-fitted with different motors, gearing, and pulleys to be offered and take advantage of the bigger 2 dual piggyback style hydraulic pump used on the AH models. All AH models came standard with power steering and Onan engines. The 3118D and 4118D were powered by 3-cylinder Perkins Diesel engines and were the only Diesel engine Case Ingersoll models, there were not very many produced. All AH models had No belt PTO on these machines and a bigger hydraulic oil cooler was mounted up front. There was a short run of 4116 that were 16 horsepower but with the bigger hydro pump, the 18-horse 3118/4118 and 20-horse 4120 models were a better fit. These machines were only produced for a few years. They are very strong and capable machines, and the notable increase in hydropower is a factor their owners brag about and enjoy. With many, there is a love-hate relationship with them. The downside is being only made for a few years SOME parts are harder to get but the biggest complaint is finding attachments for these specific models with the correct hydraulic drive motors or pulley/gearing setup. With that, used attachment parts and repair parts are not easy to find. We tell customers all this upfront, many are ok with the challenge, we also tell them since more hydraulics there will be likely more repairs/leaks to deal with. With that said if you are ok with that then by all means they are great machines. The other need these fill wonderfully are those looking to push and pull with a tractor, perfect for dirt, garden, driveway, grading, pushing, etc. They also are great for snow plowing as well as firewood log skidding and other similar jobs! 6000 Model Series 6000 series loaders and backhoes replaced the 648 loaders and backhoes. They shared many similarities with the 648 models. Some changes made along the 6000 series were a big tandem hydraulic pump, a larger front bucket, and a higher lift rating of 750 lbs at full height. 6.4-gallon fuel tank, 5-gallon hydro fluid capacity, 48-inch bucket, and 29x12.5-15 rear tires were some. Three engines were used in the 6018 (18 horsepower) -6020 (20 horsepower). The Big industrial twin Onan, Twin cylinder Kohler "Command" and Optional Honda. A quick attach front attachment system can be found on some machines as well to switch quickly between the bucket, forks, and other attachments. Like the 600 series, these machines were no light weights with loaders weighing around 1500 lbs or more and backhoes around 3000 lbs or more! With the specs of Case Ingersoll loaders they and we have to ask "John Deere, Kubota, Massey who?" 600's Model Series The true mini-construction machines! These were not garden tractors or what's called today subcompact/compact tractors. These were very heavy-duty, very capable true commercial construction duty purpose-built earth moving machines. The loader frame is built right into the large farm of the machine. The same company that built the famous full-size Case construction equipment like the industry-respected Case 580 backhoes designed and built these machines. These machines had a foot pedal for travel speed like a "gas" pedal. As per the Case Ingersoll norm, they sported very large and capable hydraulic pumps. Though similar in looks to the garden tractor line there were only some of the same parts used between them. One is the very strong rear end that speaks of its durability and capabilities as the stand rear used in both the garden and loader series! The main hydraulic valve is similar as are some of the hydraulic pumps used between the garden tractors and loaders. The frame and front axle are bigger on the loaders and they have a little bigger footprint. The other thing they share were power plants. The 644 housed the 14-horsepower Kohler K series Single cylinder engine. The 646 boasted a 16 horsepower twin-cylinder Onan most were a cast Iron bore CCK model. The 644 and 648 were replaced by the sought-after 648 18-horsepower Onan under the hood. The 648 also had power steering that is a life changer on a loader/backhoe machine. There were also some other changes with the 648 like the wider floatation front tires, and lower geared high gear was a couple. The loader models had a 44-inch nearly 4 cubic foot front bucket or very handy optional pallet forks. Backhoe-equipped 646 and 648 models were available with a full-size construction D100 model backhoe and outriggers. The same backhoe model is used on many skid steers, small full-size backhoe models, industrial tractors, etc. With the backhoe package wider rims and tires were used as well as longer axles to ad stabilization and floatation. A full underbelly subframe and counterweight system were also added to the backhoe machines and the rear end case had webbed gussets added to it for strength. The loaders and backhoe were amazing in their capability—so impressive specs for some of the 600 series. Lifting is rated at 650lbs at full height, though they have been known to lift much more with proper counterweight (but not advised to vary from OEM recommendations) breaking out a force of almost 1500 lbs! The maximum total height is just under 8 feet. The backhoe had almost an 8-foot digging depth and over a 9-foot swing. Backhoe buckets are available from 12 to 36 inches! With these being "mini" construction machines they also could be towed by a common pick up making for easy access to jobs, low investment in trucks and trailers, and also great for those starting small companies. With much less initial investment in equipment, they could do similar small jobs as small, loaders/backhoes/skid steers/mini excavators, and charge nearly the same and have a profit advantage over those bigger more expensive machines to buy, make payments, buy fuel and maintenance repair work they come with. Now you can see why municipalities, cemeteries, septic, construction, landscape, snow removal, pool, farm, golf courses, rental, nursery warehouses, entrepreneurs, and many other businesses used these machines heavily. 7000 Model Series The dreamed-about 7020 was a four-wheel drive version of the 6018/6020. The 7020 had a hydraulic-powered front drive axle to take your loader or backhoe to places where many can not go. Soft ground, muddy ground, sand, snow, steeper hills, etc. The capabilities and badass look of the 7020 make it a favorite of anyone who sees and or used them!
