Our Custom Kit INCLUDES Replacements For Part Numbers C15096, C12975, 195-2069, 195-541, 195-2206, 138-143 We put this kit together so steering shaft wear items can be replaced on their own or with a new shaft or new steering wheel install. Often, these parts are overlooked, as is the adjustment and setup of the steering shaft and gear. Many do not realize that the steering shaft on most models can be adjusted for gear engagement as well as wear patterns. The shaft can be moved up or down some to get fresh teeth engagement onto sector gear or to get correct gear teeth spacing/backlash/engagement. The steering sector gear can also be adjusted, and between the two, there is a good amount of adjustment.

OPTION - To add an upgraded replacement for C27501, the lower bushing used in SOME cross members that holds and guides the lower part of the shaft near gear. Look at the photo for the correct cross member that uses this bushing.

OPTION- To add our "Poor Mans Power Steering" for THE "STEERING SHAFT" only.

(This is not our front spindle "Poor Mans Power Steering Kit")  But this makes a great pair to that kit! This kit contains thrust washers and needle bearing washers are best used "under" the steering wheel most times in placement of the heavy spacer under the wheel. But depending on the tractor year/model, wear, and needed adjustment, it may need to be used in conjunction with other washers/spacers/shims under the kit and / or under the steering wheel. Be sure to grease on install as well as in regular maintenance.

STEERING SHAFTS NOT INCLUDED, THEY ARE SOLD ON THIS SITE

NOTE - All components may not be needed or used. This kit fits many years and models of all 200, 400, 3000, 4000 series "manual steer" tractors. There are different thicknesses and combinations of items used to get the correct adjustment. Sometimes, you may even find the best combination with new and your current spacers/shims/washers.

SHOP TIP - Always grease all components of the kit, shaft, and gears on installation and regularly. Also, make sure the steering shaft is not shimmed too much where it is very tight. There needs to be slight up and down play, but not a lot. The same goes for the teeth engagement on the two gears they should not bind or be extremely tight. There needs to be slight space and very slight play between teeth when steering wheel is very slightly wiggled back and forth.
