It is recommended and extremely important that all Onan engines get de-carboned every 250-500 hours depending on engine use, oil consumption, operating engine temperature, carburetor adjustments, and spark plugs. If you do not have good hot complete combustion, burning lots of oil, or rich running conditions your carbon buildup can happen much faster. Not de-carboning or adjusting valves can lead to catastrophic engine failure, lower performance, and lower fuel economy.

Included in this kit will be, a High-quality replacement condenser and a set of points. Also included is a high-capacity fuel filter, two top-quality NGK spark plugs, a high-capacity OEM Onan/Cummins/Fleetguard oil filter, and high-quality air filter that is all included in our seasonal tune-up kit. In addition, you will receive the gaskets needed to do a full de-carbon and valve adjustment job. Included will be high-quality USA-made to our specs, 2 valve cover gaskets, OEM Onan 2 intake gaskets & Exhaust gaskets. And two very high-quality aftermarket head gaskets or you will have options to choose Onan OEM parts at check out.

OPTION- at checkout to add the grommet for the oil filter. This grommet is a needed piece to keep your engine properly cooled and to avoid catastrophic engine damage. It is an oil filter to tin/heat shield grommet. If you do not have one or yours is damaged it is a MUST-HAVE item on your Onan.
OPTION- to add an OEM carburetor Rebuild kit to do a complete engine tune-up.
NOTE: THERE IS AN OPTION ON AIR FILTERS TO BE DECIDED AT CHECKOUT. Depending on the year of your machine there were different air filters used, 90 percent of Onan CCK Series used in Case 646 loaders will use the smaller dimension filter, (Measurements for this Smaller filter are: Height, 1-7/8" ID, 4-5/8" OD, 6") The larger OD air filter, (Measurements for this larger air filter: 2-1/8 inches high; 6-5/8 inch ID; 8 inches OD) To be 100% sure you are selecting the correct filter, measure the filter on your tractor before ordering.

How to Adjust the valves on a ONAN Small Engine
This kit includes what you need to complete your routine seasonal maintenance, tune-ups, and major tune-up/de-carbon/valve adjustments. This is what we use in our shop. The high-capacity oil filter helps with keeping cooler engine oil temperature, filtration, and oil contamination dilution, any time you can get more oil capacity in a small engine it is a great benefit. The spark plug heat range we selected here for our kit is what we have found works best with today's gasoline. The OEM-owned fleetguard filter brand is the number-one filter company in the world. This kit is what you need to make your Onan CCK series run like new and stay that way. (Kit will work on most brands of tractors that have CCK series engines BUT LOOK AT PHOTOS OF PARTS)
SHOP TIP: We recommend always running high octane, premium gas in all Case Ingersoll machines, and even better if you can get ethanol-free. We have found a noticeable difference in performance and reliability/issues
SPARK PLUG GAP .025 - .030
Valve Adjustment Clearances: .007-.009 on intake; .015-.017 on exhaust are the clearances we use
POINT GAP: .021 BUT WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND timing the engine and setting the points with either a test light or using the timing gun method. CLICK HERE to get to our video on this.
