This is a heavy-duty, upgraded Travel Control Valve directional linkage upgrade that we engineered and designed that may be overkill but will last a lifetime. Fixes jumpy tractor behavior when engaging and disengaging the direction control lever in both forward and reverse. Also, most times, it fixes the speed difference between forward and reverse speeds.
The original design is a poor one that wears very fast. All it takes is the slightest bit of play to affect your tractor's speed and travel behavior. The spool on the travel valve only moves a very small amount of travel, and if your factory inline ball joint even has 1/16" of play in it, it can have a big effect. Most have much more play and slop than that, and it then compounds any wear you have on your shaft, lever holes, and bushing for your lever. It greatly affects tractor performance and safety. NOTE- Some years, you may have to insert the linkage on the lever tab either from the top or bottom of the welded tab on your lever for clearance (photo above). Also, on some models, you may have to place the spring washer on the lever from on top of spring to under the spring or remove the washer from spring. This is only on a few years or models of later 200/400 series. Also, you may have to notch or grind a little off the return spring tab (look at photos). We do offer a smaller head heim joint option for later models IF you do not want to notch the tab, etc. This smaller rod end joint is not as heavy duty as the one we sell with all the kits, but is is still far stronger and better than other rod ends out there or the OEM design and should have very little differnce in performance and longivity if any. . You can choose this OPTION at check out to replace the lever joint included in our kits with the smaller headed joint for later models below.
Also included with our kit is a heavy-duty metal upgraded oil-impregnated thrust washer bushing for the bottom of the travel control lever rod from the dash. This replaces the nylon one that is found on many models. Also included is now two longer and heavier duty plastic bushing that goes in the dash for the travel lever to be placed through and takes care of the play-up top, too. Both of these parts on your tractors wear fast, and they also greatly contribute to limited or uneven forward and reverse speed ranges and jumpy engagements. Also included is a new extra long indicator pin for your travel lever that shows travel direction and travel position on dash. (On 3000/4000 and late 200/400 series, be mindful of how far you install the pin to make sure it does not contact dash panel)
Install time varies on tractor year and mode.
Kit is a straightforward install and well worth it, and once you install one, you will never have to worry about it again.
We also recommend that you replace your neutral safety switch/speed control/lever detent that is found under your dash that your travel rod rides in. This also contributes to smooth and steady operation as well as stops tractors from 'coming out of gear' or 'lever creeping'. There are two main styles for this. The 200/400 series use the same one(C28003/C28002 <<THIS "switch" only WILL NOT WORK ON TRACTORS WITH PLASTIC DASHS OR ANY 3000 4000 MODEL) and the 3000/4000 series use another known as a locator (C30130). Replacing these parts makes for a complete job. BUT "Linkage kit" will work with ALL these tractors.

OPTION-to add a neutral safety switch/speed control detent, as we highly recommend that you replace your neutral switch/speed control detent at this time. It is located under your dash. For almost all 200, 400 series "Metal Dash" Board machines will use the optional neutral switch speed detents we offer at check out. Please note, some extremely early 200 and 400 series and extremely late model 200 and 400 series with plastic dashboards will not use this style of speed control detent switch, nor will 3000 or 4000 series. Speed control detent neutral switches for these models are currently unavailable. Look at photos and check part numbers for this plastic dash switch/control.
OPTION- to add a new inline ball joint to replace yourlift lever linkage going in to the the TCV so your lift linkage is tight and gets smooth, full flow and power.

OPTION- For later models to swap to a smaller head rod end heim joint for travel lever for later model 200/400 series, "if" you do not want to notch return spring tab as in photos.
The kit will fit all 446, 448, 226, 3000, and 4000 model tractors. ALSO FITS THE FOLLOWING MODELS AFTER the serial numbers below.

WILL NOT WORK On 100 series, Case 442, or on any factory loader series 600, 6000, or 7000.
You will need to adjust for optimum and correct function and performance once installed. Your tractor will operate better than it ever has. USA MADE.
