Steering shaft with gear for LATER model 3000/4000 series Case Ingersoll Tractors. 
 
This shaft measures 25 3/8" for an overall length.  It has the gear welded to the bottom of the shaft and the new roll pin part number 138-143 is included in this kit.
 
NOTE: This is for LATER series  3000 and 4000 models and is longer than the other shaft.  If you have the shorter shaft go to our listing for part number C26326
 
OPTION- To add our steering shaft install kit. This kit includes Top Bushing, washers, spacers, shims that are used to space and position your shaft and lower gear for proper meshing with sector moon gear. Proper alignment and spacing makes for best steering and longevity of parts. These items are also wear items and SHOULD be replaced when replacing steering shafts. The shims and spacers are "USE AS REQUIRE" items. So each machine may require different amounts and or combinations of them to get desired result. The steering tube bushing should be replaced on all installs to make sure your shaft and both gears last and perform. Look at photos. Includes or replaces C15096, C12975, 195-2069, 195-541, 195-2206, 138-143
 
OPTION- Add cross member Upgraded Oilite bushing to replace C27501. This is only for mid generation 200-400 models and all 3000-4000 series. Look at photo of correct cross member steering support that this busing goes in. We ALWAYS replace this with a new shaft, otherwise the new shaft and gear will wear fast and steering performance will also suffer.
 
OPTION- To add our "Poor Mans SHAFT Power Steering Assist" These thrust washers and bearing helps reduce friction and drag on your steering system and helps with steering effort. They are used in place or with the items in our "Steering Shaft Install Kit" above or currently on your tractor. In order to get the best benefit from this your steering shaft should have very little up and down movement so using the spacers and shims may be needed to achieve this But you DO NOT want it squeezing these so just the smallest amount of clearance/up and down movement is needed.  This bearing and washer kit can be used under the steering wheel OR on top of the steering gear on the bottom of the shaft. It depends where you need the base gear positioned to best mesh with the sector half moon gear. Note will work on many models but there is a possibility it may not work on your model depending on spacing available or where your gear engagement/meshing needs to be. Look at Photos. NOTE THIS IS NOT The traditional "steering SPINDLE" poor mans power steering. We have listings for those kits as well and this can be used with that kit too.
 
OPTION- to add a new main half moon steering gear kit to your order. They are best replaced together for longevity and performance.
